Florida's broker eligibility requirements

  • 24 months as an active sales associate

    Florida requires at least 24 months of active experience as a licensed sales associate within the preceding 5 years before you can apply for a broker license.

  • 72-hour FREC-approved broker course

    Covers brokerage management, real estate finance, investment, appraising, and real estate law — the topics tested on the broker exam.

  • DBPR application & background check

    You'll submit the broker license application (Form RE-2) to DBPR along with fingerprints, then sit for the Pearson VUE broker exam.
